New Website for My Fiction!

Well, it's time. With my latest novella out from   Alien Buddha Press   and so many literary magazines around the world publishing my flash fiction stories, I really needed to create a separate website for my fiction.  So that's exactly what I did today! If you'd like the latest news about my novels and novellas and short stories, this is the place to go! www.laurastampsfiction.blogspot.com

My Flash Fiction Story "Zinnias" Featured in "The Sparrow's Trombone"

What a fabulous surprise! Not only was this story accepted by the awesome literary magazine  The Sparrow's Trombone  a few hours after I submitted it, but it went live less than an hour after that. Wow, right?  This is such a fun magazine! The editor, Jeremy, is a joy to deal with. Such a kind heart!  The magazine is devoted to the surreal and magical realism. I don't write in that genre very often, but I did with this story. And I had great fun doing so.  Enjoy this story. No, it's not what it seems. But that's what makes it such a fun read!  ZINNIAS by Laura Stamps — The Sparrow's Trombone (thesparrowstrombone.com)

Flash Fiction Acceptances in October

These flash fiction stories have been accepted for publication in the following literary journals, magazines, and anthologies: Go Ask Alice  will appear in the October 2021 issue of  The Daily Drunk Zinnias will appear in the October 2021 issue of  The Sparrow's Trombone

My Microfiction Stories "Consciousness" and "The Question" Featured in "The Birdseed"

Last night the second issue of The Birdseed went live, and I'm blessed to have two microfiction stories in this one: CONSCIOUSNESS and THE QUESTION.  I love this literary magazine!! I love it because the editor, Courtney, is just the sweetest soul on the planet. I love it because it's so lovingly and beautifully designed. You'll see when you click on the link. It's very clean and fresh. It almost has a Zen feel to it. And I love it because it's a microfiction magazine with only one rule. No story in it can be more than 150 words. And you know how much I LOVE that kind of writing challenge!! Enjoy these little stories and happy reading... Consciousness / The Question – The Birdseed (the-birdseed.com)

My Micro Fiction Story "Voices" Featured in "Punk Noir Magazine"

What a wonderful surprise!! Instead of my micro fiction story VOICES appearing in the fabulous Punk Noir Magazine next week, the editor, Stephen Gold, decided to surprise me and publish it today. Wow! No wonder I adore him so much. And it's n o wonder Stephen is one of my favorite editors, and Punk Noir Magazine is one of my favorite literary magazines. This story is a little different. It's empowering like all my stories, but rather intense, because it’s about a woman in an abusive relationship suffering from chronic PTSD and how a person has to move through that process toward healing. Enjoy! Voices by Laura Stamps – Punk Noir Magazine

Today my micro fiction story GRAVEYARD SHIFT is featured in one my favorite literary magazines, Six Sentences.   I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I LOVE the concept of this magazine!! Paragraph Planet is the coolest little literary magazine! It only features micro fiction stories of 75 words or less. This micro fiction story of mine, RED HOT, appeared in the May 2021 issue. Enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ RED HOT I show my hairdresser a picture. “This is what I want,” I say. She ties an apron around my neck. “Okay,” she says, winking at me. “Let’s do it!” An hour later she stops and asks, “What was it you wanted again?” My heart sinks. Oh, no! Another hour. “Done,” she says. I look in the mirror and smile. My hair the color of a hot red chili pepper. “Perfect,” I say. She laughs.
